Tring raises funds from Flipkart’s Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Udaan’s Sujeet Kumar, others

Mumbai-based celebrity engagement platform Tring has raised funds from top entrepreneurs and startup investors including Kalyan Krishnamurthy of Flipkart, Sujeet Kumar of Udaan, Gaurav Munjal of Unacademy, Keshav Sanghi of VentureWorks India, Roman Saini of Unacademy, Hemesh Singh of Unacademy, and Sumit Jain of Opentalk amongst others. 
 
However, the company didn’t disclose the amount it has raised.The startup had earlier raised funds from Dalbir Saini (Chairman, BDI Group).
 
Tring said it plans to utilise the funds to expand the business, optimise technical operations and product, on-board more celebrities, and to introduce new user experiences to increase engagement on the platform.

Founded by Akshay Saini, Rahul Saini and Pranav Chabhadia in December 2019, Tring aims to bridge the gap between a fan and a celebrity through entertainment-based gifting, events, felicitation, shout-outs, personal video messages, Q&A sessions and other engagement products. The startup claims to have over 1,000 celebrities on its platform from various genres such as movies, television shows, sports, influencers, youth icons, and more.
 
In India, where celebrities are revered and idolised, Tring is working to bring together the fans and their favourite celebrities through entertainment-based gifting, events, felicitation, shout-outs, personal video messages, Q&A sessions and other engagement products. Tring has made a big bang in this new-age digital entertainment space which is only set to grow with India’s digital revolution.

Tring has built and stabilised a momentum with the help of renowned Bollywood personalities like Vidya Balan, Farhan Akhtar, Sonakshi Sinha, Vir Das, Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur, Mandira Bedi; and sports celebrities like Harbhajan Singh, Harsha Bhogle, amongst others; generously supported by personalities like Atul Kasbekar and Manish Mundra. These celebrities have come forward to offer their support and are also urging their fans to help raise donations for the heroes of our nation, a true reflection of the solidarity phrase ‘we are all in it together’.
 
Along with the campaign, Tring’s team has opened up communication channels to encourage hospitals across India to reach out with requests for PPE kits. The team has been receiving a multitude of requests and have been continuously delivering PPE kits to all the hospitals.
